Breaking capacity and coordination
The 3VA1132-4ED36-0AA0: This 3-pole MCCB delivers 121 kA breaking capacity at 240 V AC, dropping to 75.6 kA at 415 V, 52.5 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. The high 121 kA figure at 240 V makes it suitable for high-fault service-entrance or panelboard applications where upstream transformer impedance is low. At 415 V the 75.6 kA rating provides headroom for most industrial distribution — the SCCR of downstream equipment can be coordinated against this value.
Thermal derating and ambient limits
The 32 A rating holds flat from 40 °C through 50 °C. At 55 °C it derates to 31 A, holding there through 60 °C, then to 30 A at 65 °C and 70 °C. For a panel with internal temperature rise, the 30 A floor at 70 °C means the breaker can be applied in a fully loaded enclosure without forced cooling, as long as the continuous load stays under that figure. Operating ambient range is -25 °C to +70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to +80 °C.
Physical fit and panel integration
Dimensions are 130 mm height, 76.2 mm width, 70 mm depth — a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint that fits SENTRON 3VA mounting accessories and busbar systems. The front face carries IP40 protection, meaning it resists tools and solid objects over 1 mm but is not sealed against moisture; install in a dry enclosure or with an IP-rated cover. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, so the breaker is suitable for 690 V line-to-line systems with margin.
