What this MCCB delivers
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1132-4EF32-0KC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 32 A continuous current at 40 °C ambient, with a line-protection trip curve designed for feeder and distribution circuits in industrial panels. Its breaking capacity reaches 121 kA at 240 VAC, 75.6 kA at 415 VAC, and 52.5 kA at 440 VAC — figures that give you headroom for high-fault installations without cascading upstream. The 800 V rated insulation voltage supports 690 V line-to-line systems common in European and Asian plant floors.
Current rating across the thermal band
This MCCB holds its full 32 A rating from 40 °C through 50 °C. At 55 °C it derates to 31 A, and at 70 °C it sits at 30 A. That means in a warm cabinet — say 50 °C internal ambient — you still get the full 32 A without a sizing penalty. The thermal curve is predictable, so panel builders can plan fill factor without oversizing the frame.
Breaking capacity by voltage level
At 240 VAC the breaker interrupts 121 kA symmetrical; at 415 VAC it handles 75.6 kA, and at 440 VAC it manages 52.5 kA. For 500 V and 690 V systems the rating drops to 11.9 kA. These are the values you need for selective coordination studies — the 121 kA figure at 240 V covers most North American secondary-side faults, while the 75.6 kA at 415 V suits European distribution boards.
Built-in auxiliary devices
This variant ships with two factory-fitted HQ auxiliary switches and a shunt trip (STL) release. The shunt trip allows remote tripping from a PLC or emergency-stop circuit — useful for controlled shutdown sequences. The auxiliary switches provide status feedback (open/closed/tripped) to a control system or indicator lamp. No undervoltage release is fitted, and there is no communication module — this is a straightforward, hardwired protection device.
Physical fit and panel integration
The breaker measures 130 mm high, 76.2 mm wide, and 70 mm deep. That 70 mm depth is shallow enough for standard 200 mm deep enclosures with room for wiring gutters. The 76.2 mm width (3 inches) matches the standard SENTRON 3VA frame footprint — if you are swapping a 3VA1110 or 3VA2116, the mounting hole pattern and bus-bar spacing are identical. No rewiring of the bus bars is needed for a like-for-like frame swap.
