MCCB for line protection — 32 A, 4-pole, high breaking capacity
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1132-4EF46-0AA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 32 A continuous at 40 °C, with a TM240 thermal-magnetic trip unit designed for line protection — meaning it protects cables and distribution buswork from overload and short-circuit faults, not motor loads. The 121 kA breaking capacity at 240 V gives substantial SCCR headroom for high-fault panels; at 415 V it still interrupts 75.6 kA, and at 690 V it holds 11.9 kA. The 32 A rating holds steady through 50 °C, then derates to 30 A at 70 °C — useful for panels with elevated internal ambient.
Integration — panel fit and mounting
The 3VA1132-4EF46-0AA0 mounts on a DIN rail or can be screw-fixed to a backplate. Its 101.6 mm width (4 in) and 70 mm depth (2.76 in) fit standard MCCB panel cutouts; height is 130 mm (5.12 in). IP40 on the front means it is protected against tools and small wires entering from the front, but the enclosure must provide overall panel IP rating. No undervoltage release, no communication module, no ground-fault monitoring — it is a straight thermal-magnetic breaker for basic line protection.
