Line protection MCCB with TM210 release
The Siemens 3VA1132-5ED22-0AA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) configured for line protection, meaning it guards branch circuits against overload and short-circuit faults — not motor protection, which requires a different release curve. It carries a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release, so the thermal element handles sustained overloads and the magnetic element clears high-level faults instantly. Rated 32 A continuously at ambient temperatures up to 50 °C without derating — the thermal curve holds flat from 40 °C through 50 °C. At 55 °C it steps to 31 A, at 60 °C still 31 A, then 30 A at 65 °C and 70 °C. That means a panel running at 50 °C ambient gets full ampacity; above that, plan for the 1 A reduction per 10 °C step. Interrupting capacity is the headline here: 187 kA at 240 V AC and 121 kA at 415 V AC. Those are very high fault-current ratings for a 32 A frame — the 3VA series is designed to handle high available fault current without cascading upstream. The 415 V figure matches the rated operating voltage, so the breaker is fully rated at the voltage it will see in a 400 V three-phase panel.
Panel fit and mounting
Two-pole construction in a 50.8 mm wide footprint — that is two standard 25 mm module widths on a DIN rail, or roughly 2 inches. Depth is 70 mm, height 130 mm. Front protection is IP40, meaning tools and fingers are kept out but the breaker is not sealed against water ingress; install inside a panel with at least IP40 enclosure. No undervoltage release, no shunt trip, no communication module, no motor drive — this is a plain thermal-magnetic breaker for straightforward line protection.
