What this MCCB is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA1132-5EF32-0AG0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection in distribution panels. It carries a 32 A continuous rating at 40 °C through 50 °C, derating to 30 A at 70 °C — that thermal curve matters if your panel runs hot. The TM240 thermal-magnetic release handles overload and short-circuit protection without an electronic trip unit, so there's no auxiliary power needed and no communication module to configure. Three poles, 800 V rated insulation voltage, and interrupting ratings that step down from 187 kA at 240 V to 17 kA at 500/690 V. That 187 kA figure at 240 V is the headline number for high-fault service-entrance applications; at 415 V it still holds 121 kA, enough for most industrial main breakers. The 17 kA at 690 V is the floor — still covers typical motor branch circuits at that voltage.
Panel fit and integration
Mounts on a DIN rail or direct-panel mount. Dimensions: 130 mm high, 76.2 mm wide, 70 mm deep — that's a 3-inch wide footprint, standard for a 3-pole MCCB in this class. The auxiliary switch configuration is 1 auxiliary switch + 1 trip alarm switch HP, so you get a separate alarm contact for remote fault indication without adding an external module. Power loss is 10.6 W maximum at rated current — negligible for thermal budgeting in a ventilated enclosure, but worth noting if you're packing multiple breakers in a sealed panel. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range -40 °C to 80 °C.
