What it is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1132-5EF36-0KA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 32 A continuous current (Iu) in line-protection duty. It carries a TM240 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release and a shunt trip (STL) auxiliary release, with no undervoltage release, no auxiliary contacts, and no communication function. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and the interrupting ratings climb steeply with lower system voltage: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V, 75.6 kA at 440 V, and 17 kA at 690 V. That spread tells you this breaker is built for high-fault-current main or feeder duty where a standard MCB would weld shut.
What the ratings mean for fit
The 32 A rating holds flat from 40 °C to 50 °C — no derating needed in a warm panel — then drops only to 30.72 A at 55 °C and 28.8 A at 70 °C. That thermal curve means you can size it for 32 A of continuous load in a ventilated enclosure without padding for ambient drift. Panel cutout dimensions are 70 mm deep, 76.2 mm wide, and 130 mm tall. Front protection is IP40, so it's fine for a dry indoor panel but not washdown areas. The shunt trip (STL) release is factory-integrated (order code 3VA9688-0BL33 for the trip unit itself); if you need remote trip capability, this variant has it onboard.
