What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA1132-5MH36-0AA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) with a 3-pole configuration and a TM120M thermal-magnetic overcurrent release, designed for starter protection in motor branch circuits and general distribution panels. Rated 32 A continuous at 40 °C, it holds that rating up to 50 °C before derating begins — at 55 °C it's 31 A, at 65 °C it's 30 A, and at 70 °C it's still 30 A, so in a warm panel you lose at most 2 A. Short-circuit breaking capacity is 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V, 75.6 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at both 500 V and 690 V — the high 240 V figure makes it a strong choice for 277/480 V panelboards where the upstream transformer can deliver serious fault current. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and the front face carries IP40 protection — fine for a dry indoor panel, but not for washdown areas.
Panel fit and integration
Dimensions are 130 mm high, 76.2 mm wide, 70 mm deep — a 3-pole MCCB that fits standard Siemens SENTRON mounting feet and busbar systems; the 70 mm depth leaves room behind the panel door for wiring gutters. No undervoltage release, no voltage trigger, no ground-fault monitoring, no communication function — this is a straight thermal-magnetic breaker with no auxiliaries built in, so if you need shunt trip or alarm contacts, you add them externally.
