What it is and what the ratings mean
The Siemens 3VA1132-6EE46-0AA0 is a SENTRON 4-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) with a TM220 thermal-magnetic release, rated for line protection. The 32 A continuous current (Iu) at 45 °C is the base rating — it holds that current continuously without tripping, and the thermal element tracks ambient temperature, so at 70 °C it still carries 30 A. The interrupting ratings tell you where this breaker lives: 220 kA at 240 V means it can clear a bolted fault on a 240 V bus without blowing apart, which is typical for a main breaker in a high-capacity distribution panel. At 415 V it still handles 154 kA, and at 690 V it drops to 17 kA — that's the limit for a 690 V motor control center feeder.
Integration and mounting
Mounts on a DIN rail or panel — the 70 mm depth and 101.6 mm width fit standard 4-pole MCCB footprints. IP40 on the front means it's protected against tools and wires >1 mm, but not against water; keep it inside a panel or enclosure. The TM220 release is adjustable — the magnetic short-circuit pickup (li) goes up to 320 A, so you can dial it to coordinate with downstream breakers without swapping the unit.
