Line protection MCCB for panel builders
The TM210 thermal-magnetic release provides adjustable short-circuit response up to 400 A (li max.), giving the panel builder flexibility to coordinate with downstream loads without swapping the breaker body. Breaking capacity is specified at multiple system voltages: 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. For a 400 V class panel, the 52.5 kA figure at 415 V gives headroom above typical 25–36 kA SCCR requirements, making this breaker a strong candidate for high-fault utility feeds or transformer secondaries. Temperature derating is published per degree: full 40 A up to 50 °C, then 39 A at 55 °C, 39 A at 60 °C, 38 A at 65 °C, and 37 A at 70 °C. If the breaker is mounted in a non-ventilated enclosure near other heat sources, use the 55 °C or 60 °C row for the effective ampacity — the 40 A nameplate applies only when ambient stays at or below 50 °C.
Dimensions are 101.6 mm wide, 130 mm high, and 70 mm deep — a 4-pole MCCB that fits a standard 100 mm wide DIN-rail cutout or panel-mount footprint. Power loss is 10.8 W maximum at rated load. In a densely packed enclosure, that heat must be factored into the thermal budget — especially since the breaker itself derates above 50 °C. The optional motor drive (Product Extension / Optional / Motor Drive: Yes) allows remote motorized operation for automated disconnection schemes.
Coordination and release detail
That adjustability lets the engineer set short-circuit pickup above the inrush of a motor or transformer load while still clearing low-level faults. The breaker carries an insulation voltage rating of 800 V (Ui) and a maximum DC operational voltage of 600 V, so it can serve in DC distribution sub-panels as well — though the DC breaking capacity must be verified against the 3VA device manual for the specific DC network configuration. No ground-fault monitoring version is included (Ground-Fault Monitoring Version: Without), and no N-conductor protection is built in (design of the N-conductor protection: Without). For applications requiring GFCI or a switched neutral, an external accessory or a different 3VA variant is needed.
