The Siemens 3VA1140-4ED42-0AA0 is a 4-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated 40 A continuous at 40 °C, with a TM210 thermal-magnetic trip unit for line protection. It delivers 121 kA interrupting capacity at 240 VAC — enough to handle high-fault utility feeds or transformer secondaries — and still clears 75.6 kA at 415 VAC and 52.5 kA at 440 VAC.
Ratings & Thermal Derating
Full 40 A rating holds from 40 °C up to 50 °C ambient; above that it derates to 39 A at 55–60 °C, 38 A at 65 °C, and 37 A at 70 °C. The insulation voltage is rated 800 V, and the interrupting curve drops to 11.9 kA at 500 V and 690 V — still adequate for many 480Y/277 V or 600 V industrial services.
