Siemens 3VA1140-5ED36-0AA0 — 40 A MCCB with TM210 release
The Siemens 3VA1140-5ED36-0AA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for continuous current of 40 A across a wide ambient range — 40 A from 40 °C through 50 °C, then derating to 37 A at 70 °C. That means it holds its full rating in most standard panel environments without needing to oversize the frame. Three-pole design for three-phase line protection, fitted with a TM210 thermal-magnetic release. The magnetic short-circuit pickup is adjustable up to 400 A, giving you selectivity headroom downstream.
Breaking capacity — what the voltage ratings mean for your fault level
This MCCB delivers 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V, 75.6 kA at 440 V, and 17 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. The 187 kA figure at 240 V covers high-fault industrial services where the transformer is close to the panel — common in North American 277/480 V wye systems where the line-to-ground fault can exceed 100 kA. At 415 V the 121 kA rating handles most European distribution panels without requiring a current-limiting upstream fuse.
Footprint is 76.2 mm wide by 130 mm tall by 70 mm deep — a 3-inch wide body that fits standard MCCB cubicle cutouts.
