The Siemens 3VA1140-6EF36-0KC0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 40 A continuous current with a TM240 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. Its breaking capacity hits 220 kA at 240 V, 154 kA at 415 V, 121 kA at 440 V, and 17 kA at 690 V — so on a 480 V distribution panel it still clears over 100 kA without cascading upstream.
This breaker holds its full 40 A rating from 40 °C up to 50 °C ambient. At 55 °C it derates to 38.4 A, at 60 °C to 37.6 A, at 65 °C to 36.8 A, and at 70 °C to 36 A.
