What this MCCB delivers — and where the ratings matter
The 3VA1150-3EF32-0KH0: Breaking capacity is the headline: 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 10.5 kA at 690 V. That's a lot of fault-clearing muscle for a 50 A frame — it'll ride through high-fault scenarios without upstream coordination headaches, provided your SCCR study confirms the numbers. Thermal derating is honest: full 50 A holds up through 50 °C, then drops to 48 A at 55 °C, 47 A at 60 °C, 46 A at 65 °C, and 45 A at 70 °C. If your panel ambient runs hot, size the load side accordingly — don't assume full rating at 65 °C. Footprint is 76.2 mm wide, 130 mm tall, 70 mm deep — standard SENTRON 3VA form factor. It'll drop into existing panel layouts without re-drilling the mounting plate.
Integrated accessories and release options
This unit ships with a shunt trip (STL) auxiliary release (design code 3VA9688-0BL33) and a 2-auxiliary-switch plus 1-trip-alarm-switch HQ contact block. The TM240 overcurrent release is thermal-magnetic — fixed thermal, fixed magnetic — so no field-adjustable trip curves, but it's reliable and coordination-simple. No undervoltage release, no communication module, no ground-fault monitoring, no phase-failure detection — this is a straight line-protection breaker. If you need those functions, you're looking at a different 3VA variant. Front IP40 rating means it's splash-protected from the front in a closed panel; not for open washdown zones. Storage range -40 °C to 80 °C, operating -25 °C to 70 °C.
Panel integration and wiring notes
Mounts on a standard DIN rail or direct screw-mount plate — 76.2 mm width fits a 3-module footprint. The 70 mm depth leaves room behind the gland plate for cable bends. Rated insulation voltage 800 V, so it's comfortable on 480/277 V and 600 V systems. Latching endurance rated at 15,000 operations — mechanical, not electrical.
Sourcing and lifecycle posture
Lifecycle is confirmed active (current production). No PCN, no phase-out notice. This part is sourced to order through independent distribution — submit an RFQ for current availability and pricing.
