Siemens 3VA1150-3EF36-0AF0 — SENTRON MCCB, 50 A, Line Protection
The Siemens 3VA1150-3EF36-0AF0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection — the primary feed in a distribution panel, not a motor-protective device. Three poles, rated 50 A continuously at 40 °C (derated to 45 A at 70 °C), with a TM240 thermal-magnetic release that handles overloads and short-circuits in one package. Interrupting capacity is voltage-dependent: 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at 500 V and 690 V. That means it can clear a fault up to those levels without upstream fuses blowing — useful for high-fault panels where you need selectivity without cascading. The breaker includes one auxiliary switch and one trip-alarm switch (HQ type) built in — no separate add-on needed for status feedback to a PLC or annunciator. Insulation voltage rated 800 V, so it's comfortable in 480/277 V or 600 V systems with margin.
Panel Integration & Dimensions
Mounts on a DIN rail or panel-mount base (standard 3-pole MCCB footprint). Dimensions: 130 mm height, 76.2 mm width, 70 mm depth — fits most 600 V switchgear enclosures without re-drilling. The 3VA1 family shares the same mounting pattern across current ratings, so swapping a lower-rated unit for this 50 A version is a straight drop-in.
