Line protection MCCB for panel builders
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1150-3GE42-0AA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 50 A continuous at 40 °C, with a TM220 thermal-magnetic release for line protection. Its 75.6 kA interrupting capacity at 240 V gives headroom for high-fault panel applications, and the 800 V rated insulation voltage (Ui) suits it for 480 V and 600 V distribution systems. The IP40 front protection means it's fit for enclosed panel mounting — not exposed washdown areas.
Breaking capacity across voltages
This MCCB delivers 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. That curve tells you the part is sized for high-fault 240 V secondary panels, but still holds 11.9 kA at 690 V — enough for most industrial motor branch circuits. The 600 V DC max rated operational voltage (Ue with DC) also opens the door for DC bus protection in VFD lineups.
Thermal derating and power loss
Rated 50 A from 40 °C through 50 °C, then derates to 49 A at 55 °C, 48 A at 60 °C, 46 A at 65 °C, and 45 A at 70 °C. Maximum power loss is 14.6 W — relevant for thermal budgeting inside a sealed enclosure. Operating range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range -40 °C to 80 °C.
Panel fit and dimensions
Dimensions are 70 mm depth, 101.6 mm width, 130 mm height — a standard 4-pole MCCB footprint that mounts on a DIN rail or panel-mount base. The 100% N-conductor protection design means the neutral pole is fully rated, not reduced, so it handles the same continuous current as the phase poles.
