What this MCCB is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA1150-3GF46-0AA0 is a SENTRON-series molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection in distribution panels. It carries a continuous 50 A at 40 °C through 50 °C, derating to 45 A at 70 °C — so the full rating holds across most common panel ambient conditions without a de-rate calculation. Four poles give you the ability to switch all three phases plus neutral in a single enclosure, which simplifies wiring in 3-phase+neutral distribution and avoids a separate neutral disconnect. The TM240 thermal-magnetic release handles the overload and short-circuit protection curves; there's no undervoltage release, no ground-fault monitoring, and no communication module on this variant.
Breaking capacity — where it clears faults
The interrupting ratings span the voltage range you'd expect in industrial distribution: 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. That 52.5 kA at 415 V is the figure most panel builders will check first for European 400 V-class systems — it gives headroom above the typical 25–36 kA prospective fault current in most commercial switchboards.
Panel fit and mounting
Dimensions are 70 mm deep, 101.6 mm wide, 130 mm tall — a 4-pole MCCB that fits standard SENTRON mounting feet on a DIN rail or panel-mount backplate. The IP40 front protection means it's suited for enclosed distribution boards where the door provides the final seal; not for washdown zones.
