What this MCCB carries
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1150-5EF36-0JH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 50 A at 40 °C, sized for line protection duty in distribution panels. Breaking capacity hits 187 kA at 240 VAC, 121 kA at 415 VAC, and 75.6 kA at 440 VAC — numbers that tell you it handles high-fault utility feeds without cascading upstream. At 500 V and 690 V it still holds 17 kA. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, so it's comfortable on 480/277 V and 600 V systems with margin. The 70 mm depth and 76.2 mm width fit standard Siemens 3VA panel footprints — no re-drilling if you're swapping into an existing SENTRON backpan. Operating temperature spans -25 °C to 70 °C, storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. Current derating starts at 55 °C: 49 A at 55 °C, 48 A at 60 °C, 46 A at 65 °C, 45 A at 70 °C. Max power loss is 14.6 W — plan ventilation if you're packing several in a sealed enclosure.
Auxiliaries and release
This variant ships with a shunt trip (STL) release and a 2-auxiliary-switch + 1-trip-alarm-switch HQ block. The shunt trip lets a remote signal (e.g., E-stop, fire alarm, PLC output) open the breaker independently of the overload or short-circuit trip. The HQ alarm switch changes state when the breaker trips on fault — useful for feeding a status input back to a controller or annunciator panel. No undervoltage release, no ground-fault monitoring module, no communication function on this order code. If you need UVR or GF protection, you're looking at a different 3VA variant or an add-on accessory.
