Spec at a glance
The Siemens 3VA1150-6EF32-0JA0 is a 3-pole IEC frame 160 molded-case circuit breaker with class H breaking capacity — Icu rated 70 kA at 415 V AC. That 70 kA figure means it can safely interrupt a fault current up to that level without welding contacts or cascading damage upstream, which is the deciding spec for panel SCCR compliance under IEC 61439-1. The TM240 thermal-magnetic trip unit gives adjustable overload protection (Ir = 35…50 A) and fixed short-circuit pickup (Ii = 5…10 × In). On a 50 A frame, that puts instantaneous trip between 250 A and 500 A — wide enough to ride through motor inrush on a moderate load, tight enough to clear a bolted fault before the upstream device sees it.
Trip unit and accessories
Factory-fitted shunt trip (STL) operates on 110–127 V AC/DC, 50/60 Hz. That voltage range covers common control voltages in North American and European panels — 120 VAC control transformers and 110 VDC battery-backed trip circuits both work without an interposing relay. The nut keeper kit (included) secures the breaker in the panel; no separate ordering step for the mounting hardware.
