Siemens 3VA1150-6GE42-0AA0 — 4-pole MCCB, 50 A, TM220 release
The Siemens 3VA1150-6GE42-0AA0 is a SENTRON 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 50 A continuous at 40 °C, fitted with a TM220 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. The interrupting capacity hits 220 kA at 240 V and 154 kA at 415 V, so it handles high-fault utility feeds without cascading upstream — useful for main or tie breakers in a distribution panel where SCCR headroom is tight. The 70 mm depth and 101.6 mm width fit standard 4-pole MCCB mounting footprints; the IP40 front protection keeps dust out of the enclosure face.
Current ratings and thermal derating
Rated uninterrupted current Iu is 50 A. The TM220 release holds 50 A flat from 40 °C to 50 °C, then steps down to 49 A at 55 °C, 48 A at 60 °C, 46 A at 65 °C, and 45 A at 70 °C. That means in a warm enclosure — say 55 °C ambient — you lose only 1 A; at 70 °C you lose 5 A. The 800 V rated insulation voltage (Ui) covers 480 V and 600 V class systems with margin. For DC applications the max rated operational voltage is 600 V.
Interrupting capacity across voltage levels
Breaking capacity is 220 kA at 240 V, 154 kA at 415 V, 121 kA at 440 V, and 17 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. The steep drop above 440 V means this breaker is primarily a 240–440 V performer; at 690 V the 17 kA still clears most industrial fault levels, but you'd check coordination with downstream devices if the available fault current exceeds that.
