What the ratings mean for your panel
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1163-1AA36-0CC0 is a 3-pole switch disconnector in an MCCB-style housing, rated 63 A continuously from 40 °C up to 70 °C ambient — no derating needed across that range, which simplifies panel thermal planning. It handles 690 V AC or 500 V DC, making it suitable for both three-phase motor circuits and DC bus isolation. The front-terminal clamp connection accepts standard copper lugs, and the 70 mm depth fits common distribution board cutouts.
Built-in undervoltage release and auxiliary contacts
This unit ships with an undervoltage release (UVR) rated 120–127 V AC 50/60 Hz, plus two HQ auxiliary switches — one form-C contact each. The UVR trips the disconnector if control voltage drops, providing under-voltage protection for downstream loads. The auxiliary switches let a PLC or safety relay confirm the disconnector's open/closed state without separate limit switches. No communication function is built in; this is a pure electromechanical load-break device.
Panel fit and mounting
The disconnector measures 130 mm high, 76.2 mm wide (4 standard 18 mm module widths), and 70 mm deep. It clips onto a DIN rail (EN 60715) and needs no rear access — all connections are front terminals. IP40 on the front face means it's protected against tools and wires >1 mm, but not against water; mount it inside a sealed enclosure if washdown or outdoor exposure is expected. The 38 W maximum power loss at full load should be factored into enclosure ventilation.
