Switch disconnector without overload or short-circuit protection
The Siemens 3VA1163-1AA42-0HC0 is a 4-pole SENTRON switch disconnector in MCCB-style housing, rated 63 A continuous with no overload or short-circuit protection elements — it is a disconnect-only device for isolation and switching duty. The 63 A rating holds across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C (no derating needed up to the maximum operating temperature), so it fits warm enclosures without a current penalty. It carries a built-in shunt trip (STL) release rated 12-30 V DC / 24 V AC 50/60 Hz, plus two HQ auxiliary switches (form C, CO contacts). The shunt trip allows remote or emergency trip initiation via a control signal; the auxiliary switches report the main contact position back to the PLC or status panel. No undervoltage release is fitted, and no communication module is integrated.
DIN-rail mounting and wiring
Dimensions are 70 mm deep, 101.6 mm wide, 130 mm tall. Front terminals accept busbar connection for the main circuit. Mechanical service life is 15,000 switching cycles typical. Power loss at rated current is 38 W maximum.
