What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA1163-3EF32-0DH0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection in three-phase distribution panels. It carries a 63 A continuous rating at 40 °C through 50 °C, with slight thermal derating above that — 62 A at 55 °C, 61 A at 60 °C, 60 A at 65 °C, and 58 A at 70 °C. The interrupting capacity hits 75.6 kA at 240 V and still delivers 11.9 kA at 690 V, so it handles high-fault utility feeds and motor-start transients without cascading upstream. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V.
Built-in trip and auxiliaries
This MCCB ships with an undervoltage release (UVR) and a complement of auxiliary switches: two auxiliary switches plus one trip alarm switch (HQ). The trip indicator is present, so a quick glance at the breaker face tells you whether it tripped on fault. No ground-fault monitoring module is included — that would be a separate accessory. Communication function is absent; this is a standalone thermal-magnetic breaker, not a smart metering device.
Panel fit and thermal management
The breaker footprint is 76.2 mm wide, 130 mm tall, and 70 mm deep — a standard 3-pole MCCB envelope that drops into most SENTRON panelboards and DIN-rail adapters. Maximum power loss is 19.8 W, so adjacent devices in a sealed enclosure need some airflow or derating consideration. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C.
