Line protection MCCB with TM240 release
The Siemens 3VA1163-3EF32-0HH0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection, carrying a 63 A continuous current Iu at 40 °C and a TM240 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. The 3-pole frame delivers breaking capacities of 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 10.5 kA at 690 V — enough headroom for most distribution and motor branch circuits where fault levels are known and selectivity is required. The TM240 release means the thermal element is fixed at 240 A frame rating, with the magnetic pickup adjustable; this breaker is sized for a 63 A load but built on a 240 A frame, giving mechanical margin for high-fault installations. The breaker includes a shunt trip release (STL) for remote tripping, plus two auxiliary switches and one trip alarm switch (HQ configuration) — enough for status feedback to a PLC or annunciator panel. No undervoltage release, no ground-fault monitoring, and no communication module are fitted on this variant; those are separate order-code options if the application demands them.
Dimensions and panel fit
The 3VA1163-3EF32-0HH0 measures 70 mm deep, 76.2 mm wide, and 130 mm high. The 76.2 mm width (roughly 3 inches) is standard for a 3-pole MCCB in the 3VA frame; it mounts on a DIN rail or directly to a backplate via the integral mounting feet. The IP40 front protection means it is suitable for enclosed panels where no water spray is expected — typical for indoor switchgear and motor control centers.
