The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1163-3EF36-0HC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated 63 A at 40 °C, designed for line protection. It carries a breaking capacity of 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at both 500 V and 690 V — so the interrupting rating drops significantly as voltage climbs; at 690 V it's still 11.9 kA, which covers most industrial distribution faults. The rated insulation voltage is 800 V.
Fit and mounting
Dimensions: 70 mm deep, 76.2 mm wide, 130 mm tall. That 76.2 mm width is a 3-pole standard footprint — it drops into a panel designed for a 3-pole MCCB without re-drilling. The part includes a shunt trip release (STL) and two auxiliary switches HQ, which means it can be wired for remote tripping and status feedback without adding separate modules.
Thermal derating
Rated current holds at 63 A from 40 °C through 50 °C, then derates to 62 A at 55 °C, 61 A at 60 °C, 60 A at 65 °C, and 58 A at 70 °C (–). Operating temperature range is -25 °C to +70 °C. If the panel ambient runs above 50 °C, size the breaker for the derated value — at 70 °C you lose 5 A off the nominal.
