Thermal-magnetic trip and ambient derating
The 3VA1163-3GE46-0AA0: The overcurrent release is a TM220 thermal-magnetic type — the thermal element handles overloads, the magnetic element handles short circuits. At 40 °C through 50 °C the breaker holds full 63 A rating. Derating begins at 55 °C (62 A) and steps down to 58 A at 70 °C. That means in a warm panel with poor airflow, you lose about 5 A of headroom; plan your load margin accordingly. The insulation voltage is rated 800 V, and the front face carries IP40 protection — fine for a dry enclosure, not for washdown areas.
Panel footprint and integration
The breaker measures 130 mm high, 101.6 mm wide, and 70 mm deep. That 70 mm depth is the dimension that matters when you're fitting it into a shallow backpanel or a gland-plate clearance zone — it's the same depth as many SENTRON 3VA siblings, so a panel laid out for a 3VA1110-5ED36-0AA0 will accept this unit without rewiring, provided the busbar and lug kit match the 63 A frame. No undervoltage release, no communication module, no ground-fault monitoring on this variant — it's a straight thermal-magnetic line-protection breaker.
