The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1163-4EF32-0DA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 63 A continuous current at 40 °C, with a TM240 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. It is configured for line protection — no auxiliary contacts, no communication module, no ground-fault monitoring built in. The interrupting ratings are 121 kA at 240 V and 75.6 kA at 415 V, which covers most industrial service-entrance and distribution panel fault levels. An undervoltage release (UVR) is fitted as standard; the integrated auxiliary trip uses order code 3VA9608-0BB25.
Interrupting capacity and thermal derating
The 121 kA at 240 V is the headline number for North American 240/120 V split-phase panels; the 75.6 kA at 415 V covers European 400 V three-phase distribution. At 690 V the rating drops to 11.9 kA, so this breaker is not the right choice for 690 V mains — a higher-voltage-rated frame is needed. The 63 A continuous rating holds flat from 40 °C through 50 °C; above that it derates gradually to 56.7 A at 70 °C. That means in a hot panel or enclosure with limited airflow, the actual ampacity is lower than the nameplate 63 A.
Physical fit and panel integration
Dimensions are 130 mm height, 76.2 mm width, 70 mm depth. The 76.2 mm width matches the standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for DIN-rail or panel-mount enclosures. IP40 on the front face — suitable for enclosed distribution boards, not for washdown or outdoor exposure without an additional enclosure.
