Siemens SENTRON 3VA1163-4EF32-0KC0 — 63 A MCCB with TM240 Release
The Siemens 3VA1163-4EF32-0KC0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection, carrying a 63 A continuous current rating that holds flat from 40 °C through 50 °C before beginning a gentle derating curve — 60.48 A at 55 °C, 59.22 A at 60 °C, 57.96 A at 65 °C, and 56.7 A at 70 °C. That means in a warm panel you don't lose headroom until the ambient climbs above 50 °C. Its interrupting capacity changes sharply with system voltage: 121 kA at 240 V AC, 75.6 kA at 415 V, 52.5 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at 690 V. For a 415 V distribution board that's a very high fault-current rating — enough to handle most transformer-fed secondary feeds without cascading upstream. Overcurrent release is TM240 thermal-magnetic type with magnetic trip at 240 A. No phase-failure detection, no ground-fault monitoring, no communication module. It ships with a factory-installed shunt trip (STL) release, order code 3VA9688-0BL33, and two auxiliary switches (HQ type). The shunt trip lets you remotely trip the breaker via a control signal — useful for emergency-stop circuits or interlocking schemes.
Integration & Mounting
Panel footprint: 130 mm height, 76.2 mm width, 70 mm depth. The 76.2 mm width (3-inch standard) matches the common MCCB mounting pattern for 3-pole frames in this class — it drops into the same cutout as other SENTRON 3VA breakers. Front IP40 protection keeps dust out of the enclosure face. Rated insulation voltage Ui is 800 V. Operating temperature range -25 °C to 70 °C; storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. No undervoltage release fitted.
