63 A MCCB with 121 kA interrupting capacity
The Siemens 3VA1163-4EF36-0AC0 is a SENTRON 3VA1 molded case circuit breaker rated for 63 A continuous at 40 °C through 50 °C, with a slight thermal derating to 58 A at 70 °C. Its TM240 thermal-magnetic release provides fixed overload and short-circuit protection for line-feeder applications. The 121 kA interrupting rating at 240 V AC gives substantial fault-clearing headroom in high-available-fault-current panels, dropping to 75.6 kA at 415 V and 52.5 kA at 440 V — still well above typical distribution transformer fault levels. Rated insulation voltage of 800 V and a maximum power loss of 17.3 W place this MCCB in the standard panelboard thermal budget. The 3-pole design with two integrated HQ auxiliary switches supports status feedback to a PLC or SCADA without an add-on module.
Panel integration and mounting
At 70 mm deep, 76.2 mm wide, and 130 mm tall, the 3VA1 frame fits standard MCCB panel cutouts and DIN-rail adapters. The 3-pole footprint matches the Siemens 3VA family mounting pattern, so a panel laid out for a 3VA1110 or 3VA1112 accepts this 63 A unit without rewiring the bus bars — only the lug kit and phase conductors need to be sized for the higher continuous current.
