The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1163-4EF36-0AE0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 63 A continuous current with a thermal-magnetic TM240 overcurrent release. It delivers a breaking capacity of 121 kA at 240 V, 75.6 kA at 415 V, 52.5 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at 690 V — so at typical 400 V industrial feeds it clears faults up to 75.6 kA without cascading upstream breakers.
Thermal derating and panel fit
The 63 A rating holds flat from 40 °C to 50 °C, then derates to 60.48 A at 55 °C, 59.22 A at 60 °C, 57.96 A at 65 °C, and 56.7 A at 70 °C. If the panel ambient runs above 50 °C, the continuous load must be reduced accordingly — the 63 A nameplate applies only up to that threshold. Dimensions are 70 mm deep, 76.2 mm wide, and 130 mm high. The front face carries an IP40 rating — splash protection is not provided, so it belongs in a closed enclosure or a dry cabinet.
Auxiliary contacts and release configuration
This MCCB ships with 4 auxiliary switches (HQ type) for status feedback — no undervoltage release, no shunt trip, no ground-fault monitoring, and no communication module. The TM240 release is fixed, not adjustable for long-time delay (tr max. 1 s). It is a line-protection version, not a motor-protection or switch-disconnector variant.
