SENTRON 3VA Molded Case Circuit Breaker — 63 A, 2-Pole, Line Protection
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1163-5ED26-0AA0 is a 2-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection in commercial and industrial distribution panels. It carries a continuous current rating of 63 A at 40 °C, with a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release that handles the overload and short-circuit trip curves without external electronics. Breaking capacity hits 187 kA at 240 V AC and 121 kA at 415 V AC — high enough for most main feeders and sub-distribution boards where fault levels are stiff. The rated insulation voltage is 500 V, so it sits comfortably in 400 V class panels. Thermal derating is predictable: holds 63 A through 50 °C, drops to 62 A at 55 °C, 61 A at 60 °C, 60 A at 65 °C, and 58 A at 70 °C. If the panel ambient runs hot, that 58 A ceiling at 70 °C is the number to size against. Front IP40 keeps dust and tools out of the breaker mechanism — fine for enclosed switchboards; not rated for washdown. No ground-fault monitoring, no undervoltage release, no communication function on this variant.
Lifecycle and Sourcing
Listed as current production — no end-of-life notice, no last-time-buy window. The 3VA series is Siemens' active MCCB platform, so spares and replacements are available through standard distribution.
