What this MCCB delivers on the line
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1163-5ED32-0DC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for line protection, carrying 63 A continuously at 40 °C and derating to 58 A at 70 °C — a thermal curve that keeps the machine running even in a hot panel without nuisance tripping. Its interrupting capacity of 187 kA at 240 V AC means it can clear a bolted fault upstream of a large transformer or motor control center without the arc flashing over to adjacent gear — that's the kind of SCCR headroom you want when coordinating a 480 V distribution board. The breaker ships with an undervoltage release (UVR) and two HQ auxiliary switches, so it drops the load on a brownout and reports position back to the PLC without a separate control relay.
Panel fit and mounting
At 76.2 mm wide, 130 mm tall, and 70 mm deep, this MCCB fits standard Siemens 3VA panel cutouts and bus-bar kits — no re-drilling the backplate if you're swapping from an older 3VA1 frame. The 70 mm depth leaves clearance for a standard enclosure with the door closed, even with the UVR coil and auxiliary wiring in place.
