What this MCCB carries — and what it doesn't
The Siemens 3VA1163-5EF32-0AD0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated 63 A continuous at 40 °C, with a TM240 thermal-magnetic release and a line-protection design. No undervoltage release, no ground-fault monitoring, no communication module — this is a straight thermal-magnetic breaker for basic feeder or branch protection. The interrupting rating at 240 V is 187 kA, which drops to 121 kA at 415 V and 75.6 kA at 440 V, so the SCCR headroom shrinks fast as line voltage climbs. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V.
Thermal derating and panel fit
The 63 A rating holds flat from 40 °C through 50 °C, then tapers: 62 A at 55 °C, 61 A at 60 °C, 60 A at 65 °C, 58 A at 70 °C. If your panel ambient runs above 50 °C, you lose about 1 A per 5 °C rise — plan the branch load accordingly. The case dimensions are 130 mm tall, 76.2 mm wide, 70 mm deep, which is a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for DIN-rail or screw-mount panel integration. No auxiliary switch is fitted as standard, but the basic switch variant 3VA11635EF320AA0 is the underlying platform; the -5EF32-0AD0 order code includes three HQ auxiliary switches.
