MCCB with 63 A frame and 187 kA interrupting capacity
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1163-5EF32-0JA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for line protection. Its TM240 thermal-magnetic trip unit holds 63 A continuously at 40 °C and derates to 58 A at 70 °C — the full curve matters when the panel ambient runs hot. The interrupting ratings climb to 187 kA at 240 V AC and stay at 121 kA at 415 V; above 500 V it still clears 17 kA, so this breaker handles high-fault utility feeds without cascading upstream. A built-in shunt trip (STL) release allows remote tripping from a PLC or emergency-stop circuit — no separate undervoltage release is fitted here. The 70 mm depth and 76.2 mm width match the standard 3VA panel cutout, so it drops into existing SENTRON distribution boards without re-drilling.
Thermal derating and power loss
At full 63 A load the breaker dissipates 17.3 W maximum — a factor when calculating enclosure ventilation. The 800 V rated insulation voltage (Ui) means it can be used on 690 V line-to-line systems with proper coordination. Operating range spans -25 °C to 70 °C; storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. The 63 A rating holds flat to 50 °C, then drops 1 A per 5 °C step. No trip indicator is fitted on this variant.
