What this MCCB carries
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1163-5EF32-0KC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 63 A continuous at 40 °C, with a rated insulation voltage of 800 V. It's designed for line protection — the main feed, not branch motor circuits — and comes factory-fitted with a shunt trip release (STL) for remote emergency-off or undervoltage tripping via a control signal. Interrupting capacity is the headline number here: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V, 75.6 kA at 440 V, and still 17 kA at 500 V and 690 V. That means it handles high-fault-current service entrances or large distribution panels without cascading failure upstream — the SCCR you need for a 400 V industrial panel with transformer-fed fault levels. Thermal derating is mild: holds 63 A up to 50 °C, drops to 62 A at 55 °C, 61 A at 60 °C, 60 A at 65 °C, and 58 A at 70 °C. For a panel that runs hot near the top of the enclosure, you lose only 5 A at the worst-case ambient — no need to oversize a frame for a warm cabinet.
