What it is and what the ratings mean for fit
The Siemens 3VA1163-6ED42-0AA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) for line protection, with a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. Rated 63 A continuously at 40 °C, it holds that current up to 50 °C before derating starts — at 70 °C it still carries 58 A, so the thermal margin is generous for most panel environments. The 4-pole design handles three-phase plus neutral, and the 220 kA interrupting rating at 240 V means it can sit on a high-fault utility feed without cascading upstream. Insulation voltage is rated 800 V, giving headroom for 480 V or 600 V class systems.
Where it goes and how it mounts
This MCCB is designed for panel mounting — the 101.6 mm width (4 in) and 130 mm height (5.12 in) fit standard SENTRON base plates and busbar systems. Depth is 70 mm, which leaves room for rear-connected busbars or cable lugs in a 200 mm deep enclosure. Front IP40 protects against tools and wires; the enclosure itself handles the rest of the environment.
