What this MCCB carries — and what that means for your panel
The 3VA1163-6EF32-0AE0: Breaking capacity is the headline number that decides whether this breaker holds or vents upstream. At 240 V it interrupts 220 kA — enough for a high-capacity transformer secondary. At 415 V it still clears 154 kA, and at 440 V it handles 121 kA. Those figures drop sharply above 500 V (17 kA at 500 V and 690 V), so verify your system voltage against the curve before specifying.
Panel fit and wiring
Three-pole construction, 76.2 mm wide (3 in), 130 mm tall, 70 mm deep. That depth is the dimension that catches panel builders — at 70 mm it clears most standard gland plates and backpanels without a sub-panel spacer. The 800 V rated insulation voltage (Ui) means it can sit on a 690 V bus without additional isolation. Power loss is 17.3 W maximum at rated load. In a sealed, uncooled enclosure that heat adds up; account for it in your thermal budget if the panel packs multiple breakers in a row.
Auxiliary switching and compliance
The breaker ships with provision for up to 4 auxiliary switches (HQ type) — no separate add-on kit needed for basic status feedback to a PLC or alarm panel. No undervoltage release, no ground-fault monitoring, no communication module on this variant; those are separate order-code options if your spec requires them. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C. The storage minimum is the one to watch if the breaker sits in an unheated warehouse before installation.
