SENTRON 3VA1 MCCB — 63 A, 3-Pole, Line Protection
The Siemens 3VA1163-6EF32-0JC0 is a SENTRON 3VA1 molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection in distribution panels. It carries a continuous rated current of 63 A at 40 °C, derating to 58 A at 70 °C, so the thermal trip curve stays predictable across a warm enclosure — no need to oversize for a 50 °C panel ambient. Breaking capacity is 220 kA at 240 V AC, stepping down to 154 kA at 415 V and 121 kA at 440 V. At 500 V and 690 V it still holds 17 kA. That SCCR headroom means this breaker clears high-fault currents without cascading upstream — useful when the transformer is close to the panel. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, covering 480/600 V class systems with margin. The 3-pole form factor fits standard DIN-rail or panel-mount footprints; dimensions are 70 mm deep by 76.2 mm wide by 130 mm high.
Auxiliary Functions and Integration
This variant ships with a shunt trip (STL) release and two HQ auxiliary switches factory-fitted. The shunt trip allows remote tripping from a safety circuit or emergency-stop chain — no separate undervoltage release is present. The auxiliary switches report breaker position back to a PLC or status lamp. No communication module or ground-fault monitoring is integrated; this is a straightforward line-protection breaker with remote-trip capability. Power loss is 17.3 W maximum at rated load, which matters for thermal budgeting in a sealed enclosure. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C. The 70 mm depth and 76.2 mm width match the standard 3VA1 cutout — panel layouts specified for a 3VA1110 or 3VA2116 frame share the same mounting footprint, so a swap doesn't require re-drilling the backplate.
