MCCB for line protection — 63 A, 220 kA at 240 V
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1163-6EF36-0AG0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection, carrying a continuous current rating of 63 A at 40 °C and derating to 58 A at 70 °C. Its TM240 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release provides fixed thermal and magnetic trip settings, suited for feeder or distribution circuits where adjustable releases aren't required. The 220 kA breaking capacity at 240 V AC means this breaker can safely interrupt very high fault currents typical at the service entrance or near large transformers — the same fault level that would weld contacts on a lower-rated device. At 415 V the rating is still 154 kA, and at 690 V it holds 17 kA, covering most industrial supply voltages.
Integration and mounting
The breaker occupies a 76.2 mm wide (3 in), 130 mm tall, 70 mm deep footprint — standard for SENTRON 3VA fixed-thermal breakers in this frame size. It mounts on a DIN rail or panel base; the 70 mm depth leaves clearance for rear-connected busbars or cable lugs in a typical distribution panel. The auxiliary switch configuration (1 auxiliary + 1 trip alarm switch HP) is built into the supplied basic switch 3VA11636EF360AA0, so no separate add-on module is needed for status feedback to a PLC or remote indication.
