What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA1163-6EF36-0HH0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection in distribution panels. It carries a continuous current rating of 63 A at 40 °C, derating to 58 A at 70 °C, so it holds its rating across typical panel ambient temperatures without a big oversize penalty. Three-pole construction with a 70 mm depth and 76.2 mm width — fits standard 3-pole MCCB panel cutouts and busbar spacing. The 130 mm height leaves room for auxiliary wiring above the line lugs. Breaking capacity is 220 kA at 240 V AC, dropping to 154 kA at 415 V and 121 kA at 440 V — high enough for most transformer-fed industrial services without a current-limiting upstream fuse. At 500 V and 690 V it still clears 17 kA, covering motor-control-center fault levels.
Integrated accessories
Factory-fitted with a shunt trip (STL) and two auxiliary switches plus one trip alarm switch HQ. That means you get remote trip capability and status feedback without ordering separate accessory kits — one order code, one line item on the BOM. The shunt trip allows a PLC or safety relay to force the breaker open, which is useful for emergency-stop circuits or remote load shedding. The auxiliary switches mirror contact position; the trip alarm signals a fault trip separately from manual opening.
