The Siemens 3VA1180-3EF32-0AE0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 80 A continuous current at 40 °C, with a TM240 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. Its interrupting capacity reaches 75.6 kA at 240 V and 52.5 kA at 415 V — figures that give a site electrical engineer real headroom for selectivity coordination downstream of a transformer or main switchboard. The TM240 release is adjustable for thermal trip time (tr max. 1 s), letting you fine-tune the long-time pickup to match cable protection curves without swapping the breaker body.
Derating and thermal management
Above that, the continuous current derates gradually: 76.8 A at 55 °C, 75.2 A at 60 °C, 73.6 A at 65 °C, and 72 A at 70 °C.
