MCCB with shunt trip for line protection
It carries a continuous current rating of 80 A at 40 °C with a TM240 thermal-magnetic release, and its 3-pole construction handles three-phase circuits up to 800 V insulation voltage. The integrated shunt trip (STL) auxiliary release allows remote tripping via a separate control signal — useful for emergency-stop or interlock circuits where the breaker must open on command independent of overcurrent conditions.
Breaking capacity defines where this MCCB can safely interrupt a fault. At 240 V it clears 75.6 kA; at 415 V, 52.5 kA; at 440 V, 32 kA; and at both 500 V and 690 V, 11.9 kA. These are the maximum prospective short-circuit currents the breaker can interrupt at each voltage — critical for coordination studies and ensuring the SCCR of the downstream panel is not exceeded.
The 80 A rating holds from 40 °C through 50 °C, then derates gradually: 78 A at 55 °C, 77 A at 60 °C, 75 A at 65 °C, and 74 A at 70 °C.
At 70 mm deep, 76.2 mm wide, and 130 mm tall, this MCCB fits standard Siemens SENTRON mounting footprints and accepts busbar or cable connections typical of 3-pole distribution blocks. No trip indicator is fitted; the voltage trigger (shunt trip) is present as specified by the order code suffix.
