What this MCCB delivers — 80 A continuous, 75.6 kA interrupting at 240 V
The Siemens 3VA1180-3EF36-0CA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 80 A continuous current (Iu) at 40 °C, holding full rating through 50 °C before thermal derating begins at 55 °C (76.8 A) and stepping down to 72 A at 70 °C. Breaking capacity is 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 10.5 kA at 690 V — covering most industrial distribution panels where high-fault service entrances or motor-control-center feeders need a 3-pole 80 A MCCB. The TM240 thermal-magnetic release provides fixed thermal and magnetic trip settings, suitable for line protection (cable/feeder) in commercial and industrial switchboards.
Fit and panel integration — 70 mm deep, IP40 front, undervoltage release included
At 70 mm deep, 76.2 mm wide, and 130 mm tall, this MCCB fits standard 3-pole MCCB panel cutouts and busbar arrangements; the IP40 front protection means it is suitable for enclosed distribution boards where splash or tool entry is not expected on the operator face. An undervoltage release (UVR) is built in (design of the auxiliary release: undervoltage release), so the breaker trips on loss of control voltage — a common requirement for safety disconnects on conveyors or machine feeders. No auxiliary contact version is fitted as standard; if remote status indication is needed, the separate auxiliary trip block (order code 3VA9608-0BB24) can be added.
