The instantaneous pickup is fixed at 800 A — no adjustment range, so selectivity studies must treat it as a hard threshold. Breaking capacity is 75.6 kA at 240 V AC and 9 kA at 415 V AC. At 240 V that covers most service-entrance and distribution panel fault levels in North American 120/240 V split-phase or 240 V delta systems. The 415 V figure is lower — typical for a compact 1-pole frame — so verify SCCR on 400 V three-phase panels before committing the BOM line. Rated insulation voltage is 500 V AC; maximum DC operational voltage is 125 V. The front face carries IP40 protection — suitable for enclosed panel mounting, not for washdown or outdoor exposure without an additional enclosure.
Thermal derating — the real continuous current
The 80 A rating holds at 45 °C and 50 °C. Above that, the TM210 release derates: 78 A at 55 °C, 77 A at 60 °C, 75 A at 65 °C, 74 A at 70 °C. If the panel ambient runs near 60 °C, the breaker is effectively a 77 A device — factor that into the load schedule. Maximum operating temperature is 70 °C; storage spans -40 °C to 80 °C.
Physical fit and panel integration
Width is 25.4 mm (1 in), depth 70 mm (2.76 in), height 130 mm (5.12 in). Single-pole footprint matches standard 1-inch-per-pole MCCB spacing on DIN-rail or panel-mount backplates. Power loss at rated current is 6.4 W — negligible thermal contribution in a ventilated enclosure, but worth noting for sealed, high-density layouts.
Release and protection configuration
The TM210 overcurrent release is a fixed thermal-magnetic type with LI characteristic — no electronic adjustment, no ground-fault module, no communication function, and no motor-drive option. Neutral conductor is not upgradeable. Zero auxiliary contact COs on this variant. If you need signaling or remote trip indication, order the version with auxiliary switch block or add a separate auxiliary contact module.
