What this MCCB delivers
The Siemens 3VA1180-4ED26-0AA0 is a 2-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated 80 A at 40–50 °C, with a TM210 thermal-magnetic release for line protection. Its interrupting capacity reaches 121 kA at 240 V AC and 75.6 kA at 415 V AC — numbers that tell you it can clear high-fault currents without upstream coordination issues in most distribution panels.
Breaking capacity and thermal derating
At 415 V AC the 75.6 kA breaking capacity covers the majority of industrial service-entrance and sub-distribution applications. The 121 kA at 240 V AC is typical for high-available-fault commercial panels. The thermal derating curve is published: 80 A flat through 50 °C, then 78 A at 55 °C, 77 A at 60 °C, 75 A at 65 °C, and 74 A at 70 °C. That means you can run it at full rating in a 50 °C enclosure; above that, you must reduce the load or improve ventilation.
Mounting and panel fit
Dimensions are 130 mm high, 50.8 mm wide, 70 mm deep. The 50.8 mm width (2 inches) is the standard 2-pole MCCB footprint for DIN-rail or panel-mount backplates. IP40 on the front means it is protected against tools and small wires entering the breaker face — fine for enclosed distribution boards but not for washdown areas.
