What this MCCB delivers on the line
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1180-5EF32-0CC0 is a molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 80 A at 40 °C, holding that rating steady through 50 °C before a mild thermal derating curve kicks in — 78 A at 55 °C, 77 A at 60 °C, 75 A at 65 °C, and 74 A at 70 °C. That means it handles a full 80 A continuous load in most ventilated enclosures without up-sizing. Breaking capacity climbs to 187 kA at 240 V, drops to 121 kA at 415 V, then 75.6 kA at 440 V, and still holds 17 kA at 500 V and 690 V. For a panel fed from a transformer with high available fault current, this breaker clears without upstream coordination headaches. Designed for line protection. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V.
Panel fit and auxiliaries
The 3-pole frame measures 76.2 mm wide, 130 mm tall, and 70 mm deep — a compact footprint that fits standard MCCB mounting patterns in Siemens SENTRON distribution boards or third-party enclosures. Factory-fitted with an undervoltage release (UVR) and two auxiliary switches (HQ design). The UVR trips the breaker if control voltage drops, a common requirement for safety circuits and motor feeder disconnects. Power loss is 21.7 W maximum at rated load — factor that into enclosure thermal calculations if the panel runs multiple breakers at full current.
