SENTRON 3VA — line protection MCCB, 80 A frame
The Siemens 3VA1180-6ED36-0AA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection in distribution panels and industrial switchboards. It carries a continuous current rating of 80 A at 40 °C through 50 °C, derating to 74 A at 70 °C — so the 80 A frame holds its full rating across typical panel ambient temperatures, only dropping above 55 °C. Breaking capacity reaches 220 kA at 240 V and 154 kA at 415 V, which covers high-fault utility feeds and transformer secondaries without cascading upstream. At 500 V and 690 V the rating settles at 17 kA — still adequate for most motor-control-center bus faults. The overcurrent release is a fixed thermal-magnetic TM210 — no interchangeable trip units, so the 80 A rating is hard-set at the factory. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and the front face carries IP40 protection, meaning it's suitable for dry indoor panel mounting but not washdown zones.
