The SENTRON 3VA1180-6ED42-0AA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection, carrying 80 A continuously at 40 °C ambient. The TM210 thermal-magnetic release handles overload and short-circuit curves for feeder and distribution circuits in industrial panels. Breaking capacity reaches 220 kA at 240 V AC, dropping to 154 kA at 415 V and 121 kA at 440 V — figures that match high-fault installations like transformer secondaries or large motor control centers. At 500 V and 690 V the rating settles at 17 kA, still adequate for most 480 V distribution.
Thermal derating and panel integration
The 80 A rating holds flat from 40 °C through 50 °C. Above that, derating begins: 78 A at 55 °C, 77 A at 60 °C, 75 A at 65 °C, and 74 A at 70 °C. In a sealed enclosure with multiple breakers side-by-side, use the 70 °C column for worst-case ambient inside the cabinet. Dimensions are 70 mm deep, 101.6 mm wide, and 130 mm tall — a 4-pole footprint that fits standard Siemens SENTRON panelboards and DIN-rail adapters. IP40 on the front face keeps dust out of the mechanism; the rear terminals are unprotected, so the breaker needs an enclosure for anything beyond clean, dry indoor use.
