MCCB for high-fault panel protection
The Siemens 3VA1180-6EF32-0AD0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 80 A at 40 °C, with a breaking capacity of 220 kA at 240 V AC — enough to handle high-fault-current utility feeds or transformer secondaries without cascading upstream. The TM240 thermal-magnetic release provides fixed overload and short-circuit protection, no undervoltage release or ground-fault module on this variant.
Breaking capacity drops as voltage rises: 154 kA at 415 V, 121 kA at 440 V, and 17 kA at 500 V and 690 V (–). The 80 A rating holds steady from 40 °C to 50 °C, then derates to 74 A at 70 °C (–). The 70 mm depth and 76.2 mm width fit standard SENTRON 3VA panel footprints; the 130 mm height matches the mounting centres of the 3VA family. Maximum power loss is 19.2 W.
