What this MCCB delivers for your panel
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1180-6EF32-0CC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 80 A at 40 °C, designed for line protection in distribution panels. Its standout feature is the interrupting capacity: 220 kA at 240 V, 154 kA at 415 V, and 121 kA at 440 V — figures that handle high-fault utility feeds or transformer secondaries without cascading upstream. The breaker includes an undervoltage release (UVR) and two HQ auxiliary switches for status feedback to a PLC or annunciator. No trip indicator on the front; the UVR and aux contacts are the signaling path.
Current rating across the temperature range
Rated 80 A continuously from 40 °C through 50 °C. At 55 °C it derates to 78 A, at 60 °C to 77 A, at 65 °C to 75 A, and at 70 °C to 74 A. If your panel ambient runs above 50 °C, factor the derate — the breaker still holds full interrupting capacity, just at a lower continuous load.
Physical fit and integration
Measures 130 mm high, 76.2 mm wide, 70 mm deep. The 3-pole footprint fits standard SENTRON panel-mount cutouts; the supplied basic switch (3VA11806EF320AA0) and the UVR are factory-installed. Two HQ auxiliary switches provide form-C contacts for remote status — one spare contact if you use one for the UVR monitoring circuit.
Insulation and power loss
Rated insulation voltage 800 V, so it's comfortable on 480/277 V or 600 V systems with margin. Maximum power loss 21.7 W at rated load — heat that must be considered in sealed enclosures.
