What it is and what it carries
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1180-6EF42-0AA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) with an 80 A rated continuous current Iu and a TM240 thermal-magnetic release. It handles 220 kA interrupting capacity at 240 V and 154 kA at 415 V — numbers that put it squarely in high-fault-duty service for industrial distribution panels where the transformer is big and the cable runs are short. The 800 V rated insulation voltage Ui tells you it's built for 480Y/277 V or 600 V systems without derating the insulation.
Where it goes and how it mounts
Panel-mount or DIN-rail adapter, IP40 on the front. The 70 mm depth, 101.6 mm width, and 130 mm height fit standard SENTRON 3VA panel cutouts — if you're replacing a 3VA1 in a running board, the footprint matches the same mounting holes. No communication module, no ground-fault monitoring; this is a straight line-protection MCCB, not a metering or trip-alarm unit. Use it for feeder protection in switchboards, motor control centers, and distribution panels where you need the interrupting capacity to stay coordinated with downstream breakers.
